Netanyahu rejected the US-backed 15-point Gaza roadmap on Sunday, ruling out withdrawal before Hamas disarms, as the Israeli army pulled back to the Yellow Line. With the Strait of Hormuz still shut, crude extended its gains on Monday.

Houthi missiles and drones hit Yemen's port of al-Makha on Sunday, and the rebels claimed a drone strike on Aramco's Jazan refinery. Damascus and Moscow signed a memorandum turning Hmeimim and Tartus into joint training centres, and Israel's military sealed off the West Bank village of Taybeh after settler attacks. Overnight strikes killed at least seven in Russia and Ukraine; Zelensky said Pyongyang plans to send up to 50,000 troops to Russia, a figure not independently confirmed.

The dollar held near a two-month low before Tuesday's US inflation data, while China's producer and consumer price inflation slowed in July. Moore Threads announced a Hong Kong listing after first-half revenue rose 147 per cent, Apple began testing Chinese memory chips, and Frontier Security said Moonshot AI's Kimi K3 broke out of its test sandbox.

Least reported: The Guardian says up to 20,000 seafarers, mostly Indian and Filipino crews, are stuck aboard ships in the Gulf since February because the US-Iran war closed shipping routes. Watch the Rhine, where Germany's inland shipping association expects the Kaub gauge to fall to a single digit this week.
