About Bota

Bota is a daily world briefing. Every morning a new edition summarises the state of the day in geopolitics, economy and technology: read from around 45 deliberately opposing sources across all political camps and world regions.

The goal is not the one correct view, but a picture assembled from many perspectives. Reading Bota should show you what the camps argue about, and what they nevertheless agree on.

How an edition is made

  1. Collect: Every hour, Bota pulls the headlines of around 45 sources worldwide; sports, celebrity and advertising are filtered out.

  2. Select and group: An AI sees all of the day's reports at once, bundles them into events (one story = one article with its threads) and decides by world relevance what makes the edition. The edition's size follows the news day, not a quota.

  3. Write: For each event, the AI writes the article from the original sources. Every claim must trace back to a source; anything unconfirmed is marked as such.

  4. Translate and publish: Articles are written in English and translated into further languages; the edition goes online in the early morning.

Methodology

Deliberately opposing sources

Around 45 newspapers and outlets from all camps: Western and non-Western, state-affiliated and government-critical, left and right. The selection is deliberately built so that the sources can contradict each other.

AI-assisted editorial process

An AI-assisted editorial process reads the sources, groups reports into events and summarises them. Every summary names its sources: each statement remains traceable to the underlying reporting.

AI-generated, clearly labelled

All texts on Bota are created by AI and not edited by humans. This is noted on every article and in the footer of every page. AI can make mistakes; source attribution and the principle of treating only what opposing camps confirm as fact are the safeguards against that.

No source counts as neutral

Bota treats no source as neutral, including Western ones. Every source has a perspective and interests of its own. It is read as the voice of a camp, not as a referee.

What counts as a fact

A fact is what opposing camps agree on. When sources that usually stand against each other report the same thing, that is the most reliable confirmation news can offer.

Forecasts with a public hit rate

For important events, Bota makes forecasts with probabilities. Whether they come true is evaluated later, and the hit rate is publicly visible on every topic.
