Symbolic imageEl Niño brings drought, fires and floods to Bolivia, Brazil and Ecuador
Bolivia declared a state of emergency over drought that Al Jazeera says affects 78,000 families and has cost over 75,000 cattle, while Telesur reports 18,907 fires in the Brazilian Amazon in October, up 140.3% from 7,868 a year earlier. Al Jazeera also reports that Malawian cattle farmers travel farther as drought worsens, and that floods linked to El Niño hit Ecuador.
