4 sources

Global stocks rallied on AI optimism ahead of Microsoft and Alphabet results on Wednesday. Bloomberg reports that a bank and a fund are managing their AI debt exposure.

All three major US indexes rose on Tuesday, 27 October, led by the Nasdaq Composite (+1.18 percent), according to Al Jazeera. Nvidia gained almost 1 percent after announcing a $3bn investment in Meta's equity offering. Asian markets followed on Wednesday: South Korea's KOSPI closed up 6.63 percent after SK Hynix reported third-quarter operating profit of 83.33 trillion won ($62.4bn). Amazon reports on Thursday and Apple on Monday. Dan Coatsworth of AJ Bell calls it unclear whether this is a new rally or a relief bounce.

Hedging and offloading AI debt

Bloomberg headlines say Barclays is turning to insurers to hedge billions of data-centre debt, and Pimco sold billions in AI debt just in time to skirt losses. Another says Wall Street's AI debt machine is starting to choke on supply.

Neocloud liquidity dispute

Elon Musk warns of neocloud failures, while Jensen Huang says robust demand would solve the sector's liquidity crunch, the South China Morning Post reports. It says similar pressures affect Chinese builders of computing capacity.

Spending and losses

Anthropic filed for an IPO on Monday, reporting a first-half 2026 net loss of $80.7bn on $16.3bn revenue. Gartner forecasts global AI investment of $2.7 trillion in 2026 and $3.6 trillion in 2027.
