Chad submitted formal notice of its withdrawal from the International Criminal Court to the UN secretary-general, with the exit taking effect in July 2027 and leaving investigations already under way unaffected, according to Le Monde and TASS. Le Monde reports that N'Djamena says it acted at the request of the United States, and that Chad's role in the war in Sudan is under scrutiny by the court's prosecutors.
