The Trump administration has asked the US Supreme Court to allow new restrictions on mail-in voting to take effect after an appeals court upheld an injunction blocking the order in 23 states, on the grounds that the president lacked authority to change state election rules, according to Al Jazeera, the Wall Street Journal and El País. Breitbart reports that Trump also urged Senate Majority Leader John Thune on Monday to keep the Senate in session and end the filibuster in order to pass the SAVE America Act.
