Nobel medicine prize goes to Deisseroth, Hegemann and Nagel for optogenetics
The 2026 Nobel Prize in medicine goes to US researcher Karl Deisseroth and the Germans Peter Hegemann and Georg Nagel for their work in optogenetics, FAZ reports. Le Monde says the trio discovered a method that shows how nerve cells shape memories, emotions and behaviour in the brain.
