Washington has called on Israel to reduce tensions in Lebanon and assured Beirut of its commitment to a successful conclusion of the negotiations, TASS reported on Friday, citing television sources. The Jerusalem Post reports that some sessions of last week's Rome talks ended early in response to Israeli strikes on Hezbollah infrastructure in Lebanon, and that experts see Hezbollah's attempts to wreck the process as failing.
