Symbolic imageKyiv reports no allied warning of missile strike as Russia hits Kharkiv
Zelensky said on Tuesday that Ukraine received no partner warning before a Russian ballistic missile strike on Kyiv. Ukraine in turn sent over 400 drones toward Moscow.
Russia fired five Iskander-type ballistic missiles from the Bryansk region at Kyiv on Monday evening, 12 October, and sirens sounded only after the explosions, according to the Financial Times. Strikes on Kharkiv the same day injured 37 people, regional head Oleh Syniehubov said, and rescuers later found three bodies in the ruins of a four-story residential building.
Intelligence-sharing dispute
Zelensky did not name the partners or tie the gap to US threats to cut intelligence sharing. Foreign minister Andriy Sybiha said cooperation continues and blamed the delay on the type of weapon used. Trump denied cutting intelligence: "We are helping them, we are sharing intel. We want the war to end."
Energy truce status
Zelensky said Ukraine has not hit Russian refineries or energy sites since Trump announced the energy ceasefire on Sunday, while Russia kept attacking Ukrainian energy facilities. Reuters reports Russia hit no energy targets on Tuesday for the first time since the truce.
Drones toward Moscow
Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin said 417 Ukrainian drones flew toward the Moscow region overnight, 65 of them destroyed on approach to the city, with no casualties reported. In Kaluga region, Governor Vladislav Shapsha said 73 were downed and a school was damaged.
