Ukrainian drones shut a Yandex data centre in Vladimir on Sunday, the third in a week. Russian strikes killed more civilians in Ukraine.
On Sunday, 11 October, Yandex said operations at its Vladimir facility, east of Moscow, were completely suspended. No one was injured and the platform ran in emergency mode. Ukrainian drones had hit the Sasovo hub on Thursday, which houses two of the three supercomputers used for Yandex's AI model, and the Kaluga centre on Friday. "We always respond in mirror-like fashion," President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said after Sasovo, pointing to Russian strikes on Ukrainian data centres.
