Symbolic imageUS disables blockade runner as Iran rejects Washington's Hormuz reply
A US jet disabled a ship leaving Iran, and tankers burned near Hormuz and Sohar. Iran called Washington's reply to its seven conditions insufficient.
US Central Command said a fighter jet hit the stern of the Panama-flagged Ocean Molika with a precision munition on Saturday, 10 October, after its crew ignored repeated warnings. The ship had left an Iranian port, and no crew were harmed. Since the blockade resumed on 14 July, US forces say they have disabled four vessels and turned back 135.
Tankers hit near Hormuz and Sohar
UKMTO reported an outbound tanker hit by an unknown projectile in the strait late Saturday, with all crew safe. On Monday it reclassified an incident near Oman's Sohar as a drone strike; India's shipping minister said two of 11 Indian crew are missing.
Tehran rejects US reply
Security council secretary Mohsen Rezaei said on Sunday the US reply, sent via Qatari intermediaries, accepted some of Iran's seven conditions but left others unclear. He ruled out the old talks format and, per Breitbart, threatened undersea cables and AI facilities if war resumes.
