Symbolic imageWFP halves Gaza food aid as Israeli strikes continue
The WFP cut Gaza food aid by 50% for lack of funds, Telesur reports. Israeli strikes killed at least six Palestinians at the weekend.
The WFP said the cut takes effect immediately and threatens hundreds of thousands of people, for displaced families one of the few food sources. It warned of fewer meals and smaller rations, further cuts without new funds, and obstacles from Israeli restrictions on aid entry and distribution.
Deadly strikes
Medics said at least five people, including four women, died on Saturday, 3 October, when an apartment building in Gaza city was hit. On Sunday one person died and ten were injured in an attack on a vehicle in Deir al-Balah; Israel had not commented. The National counts 1,446 Palestinians killed since the October 2025 ceasefire.
Turkish charity director killed
On Sunday the Israeli army said it killed Saqr Nabil Musa Qaisi in Khan Younis, calling him a Nukhba member and director of the Turkish charity Deniz Feneri, which it accuses of Hamas ties. Al-Aqsa hospital reported the charity's director died in a strike on a vehicle.
Shelter and crossings
Displaced people protested in Khan Younis on Saturday for tents and food ahead of winter, Daily Sabah reported. Defence Minister Israel Katz ordered all crossings closed on the 7 October anniversary.
Other opinions
Only Telesur reports the WFP cut; Jerusalem Post and Le Monde lead with the Qaisi strike, Le Monde stressing the claims are the army's.
