Symbolic imageRussian strikes damage Kyiv's South Bridge and cut power in seven regions
Russian missiles and drones hit Kyiv overnight into Tuesday, damaging the South Bridge and metro and killing one person. Le Monde reports power cuts in seven oblasts.
The attack began on the evening of Monday, 26 October, and came in several waves, according to Le Monde. Mayor Vitali Klitschko said the South Bridge and the subway system were hit, and the city closed the bridge and disrupted the red and green metro lines. Meduza counts 10 injured, mostly students at a dormitory, while Le Monde cites about 15. The Guardian reports that Russia launched 280 drones. Meduza notes that Russia has intensified strikes on Dnipro bridges in Kyiv since early October.
Zelensky points to missile shortage
Volodymyr Zelensky said more than 100 ballistic missiles have been fired at Kyiv and its region since 14 October. He said Ukraine lacks Patriot missiles and that firmer partner support would put it in a much better diplomatic position.
Deaths in Russian border areas
Russia's Defense Ministry says it downed 222 Ukrainian drones overnight. Bryansk governor Yegor Kovalchuk reports two dead and six injured from explosives dropped by Ukrainian drones. Zaporozhye governor Yevgeny Balitsky says a drone hit a passenger bus and killed one person.

TASS, which is state-affiliated, covers the bridge damage briefly, citing Ukraine's Strana for its military supply role. It puts more weight on Ukrainian attacks on Russian regions.
