Houthi missiles kill at least four at Yemen's Mokha port

Houthi forces fired six ballistic missiles at the government-held Red Sea port of al-Makha on Friday, killing at least four. They also claimed a drone strike on a Saudi Aramco site in Najran.

Yemen's government said the missiles hit civilian infrastructure at the port on Friday, 14 August, and set several fishing boats on fire. An unnamed military official told AFP that at least eight people were killed, two of them security personnel, and that merchant ships unloading at the quay were struck, leaving two ablaze. TASS, citing Al Arabiya, reported drones and boats were used as well and that six mined boats attacked an oil tanker in Bab al-Mandeb.

Houthis claim hits on Saudi-backed forces

The Houthi military spokesman said the group struck buildups, weapons and warships of Saudi-backed forces and "mercenaries" near al-Makha and killed tens of soldiers, a claim no other source confirms. TASS reported dozens of government strikes on rebel positions on the western coast and shelling west of Taiz.

Drone claim on Aramco in Najran

The Houthi-run agency SABA said a drone hit an Aramco site in Najran in response to Saudi warplanes entering airspace over Saada province, without naming target or damage. Saudi authorities and Aramco did not comment; a day earlier the Houthis claimed two drones struck an Aramco refinery in Jazan.
