Ukrainian drones halt grain exports at Russia's biggest Black Sea port

Ukrainian drones hit Novorossiysk and Russia's Krasnodar region overnight into Wednesday, halting all three grain terminals at the country's main wheat port. Three people were killed, among them an eight-year-old.

Grain shipments from Novorossiysk are impossible for now because of serious damage to terminal infrastructure, people familiar with the matter told Bloomberg on Thursday. A loading gallery at United Grain's Novorossiysk plant collapsed and several silos were damaged, and the Demetra and KSK terminals were hit as well. Wheat futures in Chicago rose as much as 4 percent on Wednesday. Russia's foreign ministry called Kyiv's campaign an attempt to incite chaos in the global food market.

Crimea loses power

More than 30 drones also targeted Sevastopol, damaging three apartment blocks and five houses in Balaklava without injuries, the Kremlin-installed head of the city said. FAZ reported a power cut in Crimea after the attack.

State of emergency in Novorossiysk

At least 24 people were injured, and officials cut the city's water supply after mains were damaged. Russia's defence ministry said air defences downed 502 drones overnight.

Kyiv curbs data on missile strikes

Ukraine's air force has restricted its morning reports on Russian ballistic launches, its press service confirmed, as Kyiv runs short of Patriot interceptors.
